A full set of artificial teeth on an acrylic base for patients with no remaining natural teeth in that arch. The denture is held in place by suction (upper) and muscular control (lower), aided optionally by denture adhesive.
For patients missing some teeth but retaining others, a cast partial denture uses a precisely fitting cobalt-chrome metal framework that clasps onto the remaining natural teeth for stability. Tooth-coloured acrylic teeth are attached to the framework.
